Fantasy
Fantasy stories (stories set in a different world where, in some cases, different rules apply to nature and how life is lived) provide a contrasting world, allowing children to reflect on the rules and structures that they live by. These stories often address the battle of good and evil in a way that allows the reader to approach it and think about it without being overwhelmed by the ways the battle is fought in their real lives. Since the settings of fantasy books are often foreign and creative, they allow the idea of mystery to surface, encouraging readers to see how much is unknown and mysterious in their own lives and in our world.
